Poker Run Success! (8/8)

POKER RUN SUCCESS: Our 3rd Annual Poker Run was held on Saturday, August 7, 2011.  Registration began at Hager’s Farm Market, and the ride ended at St. Joseph’s parking lot about 2 hours later.  There were 3 stops along the way in which riders would draw cards in forming their poker hand.  Four bikers from the

parish came, and Ten riders from the Berkshire Hills H.O.G. Motorcycle Group, Chapter 2030 from Pittsfield, MA showed up, and almost immediately the weather began to improve!  We had feared thunderstorms, or at least rain, but the fog burned off and the clouds cleared to reveal a very hot August sun!

The winner of the 50/50 pot was Mrs. Donna Seymour of Shelburne Falls.  She won $185.00, but gave $100.00 back to the parish as a donation.  Thank you, Donna!  She won with two pair – Jack’s over Nine’s (there were two lesser hands which also sported two pair).  So far, it looks like the parish gross was $439.00 for this event.

After the ride, the group enjoyed a feast of hamburgers, hot dogs, baked beans, macaroni salad, cole slaw, soda, donuts, bottled water and fried bread dough.  Thanks to Hugh and Chris Knox, Nancy Finn and Marion Scott for their hard work in preparing the meal.

Pictures were taken by several riders, and will hopefully be emailed to us shortly.  I will post them to the photos page when I get them.
