Many of you are very curious (as am I) as to whether or not anyone has applied for our job vacancy. I spoke with Monsignor Connelly at the Diocese of Springfield this morning. He is the Vicar General, and a member of the Clergy Commission, who is in charge of the process of selecting a new priest for the parish. He told me that letters of interest are being accepted through June 1, and the Commission will then meet on June 5 to review said letters. He said he does not know if anyone has shown an interest or not, as he doesn’t get the letters. If no one shows an interest, then someone is “asked” to. That process could take some time.
So, to make a long story short, we will know more after June 5th.
