Houston, TX – Flood Disaster Recovery

Vacations That Give,  in conjunction with the Sisters of St. Anne (Boston), are looking for able-bodied volunteers to assist in flood recovery operations in Houston, TX during the week of May 22-27.  This would be a working vacation, the cost being $670, which would cover your flight, housing, food, transportation to/from the work sites and evening reflection.  There is free time available for you to shop or do whatever you may want to do.

This trip will require manual labor. Nothing too heavy, but they will be cleaning out homes after the flooding. Work is done at your own pace and no one is asked to do something they are not comfortable with. Volunteers are often older, but should be in good physical health. You are expected to have your own health insurance.

The plan is to stay in houses with beds and full shared bathrooms and there should not be many out-of-pocket expenses once you arrive.

For more information, please email Regina at: regina@vacationsthatgive.org. Registration and your deposit of 50% is required by May 14. A suggested packing list can be found at the website.
