The Christmas Fair Committee ladies have designated a large sum of money for the purpose of purchasing new vestments (made by R. J. Toomey and Abbey) for our Altar Servers. The old vestments are older than anyone can remember (probably 20-30yrs old) and are worn out.
The new vestments, which will be arriving shortly, are red snap-front cassocks, which will be covered by a square-necked white surplice.
Parents will be responsible for altering the cassock to fit their child.
We are hoping they will give our Servers even greater pride in Serving our Lord! Father is planning on introducing them at the beginning of Lent – this gives everyone time to have alterations made to ensure a proper fit.
